Hourly rates are stated for attorney, paralegal, administrative staff in the agreements. If an agreement is not signed, then the work will be billed at the current hourly rate. The current rates will be stated in your engagement letter and they will be honored for the term of the agreement or for one year after the agreement is signed. All new agreements will be set at the current rate. 2023 ATTORNEY RATE $300.00/HR MONTHLY RETAINERS Cohoon Legal offers Small Business legal retainer plans, which allows you access to an attorney for issues and concerns you may have regarding your business at a set fee for each month. This helps small businesses budget for the unexpected legal issue while getting access to solve your legal matters from your trusted legal partner. It also provides a discounted hourly rate for any additional services needed or 10% off flat-fee services. (Payment plans are not available for retainers.) EVERGREEN RETAINERS A Retainer is an amount of money paid upfront to secure the services of an attorney. These funds are placed in a trust account and belong to the client until the law firm earns the fees, then the retainer is used to pay the invoice. Once the retainer's balance reaches a set amount, the trust account is replenish automatically by the Client (Evergreen Accounts). The terms are set by the fee agreement signed by the client and attorney. Once the legal matter is closed, the funds remaining in the Trust account will be returned to the client after all invoices and expenses are paid. RETAINER DEPOSIT RANGES $1,500 to $15,000 FLAT FEE AND PAYMENT PLANS I offer flat fee options for certain types of legal matters and those rates are set by Cohoon Legal. If a Flat fee is appropriate for your matter, the attorney will discuss those options with you. For flat fee services, I do offer Payment Plans at a ten percent higher rate (10%). All payment plans are secured with a credit cards. Anything outside the scope of the agreement will be billed at an hourly rate. FLAT FEE RANGES $1,500 to $7,500 LITIGATION FLAT FEE RANGES $7,500 to $80,000 AWARD OF ATTORNEY FEES If your matter requires litigation, then I may ask the court for the other party to reimburse you for your attorney's fees. It is up to the judge's discretion if attorney fees will be awarded and how much will be awarded. This award of attorney fees does not release you from the obligation of paying the full amount of fees owed. The award will be applied to your matter balance and any excess will be forwarded to you at the conclusion of your case. *The above is given for informational purposes only and does not bind Cohoon Legal or its staff and attorney to any agreement terms or fee structures.
